New Year, New Goals

I’m not the type of person to set five- or ten-year goals, but each year I like to focus on a new professional goal.

One year I wanted to break into in-flight publications. That year I wrote a feature for Frontier Airlines’ inflight magazine.

Another year I decided I wanted to write about knitting. I became one of several contracted knitter-bloggers for Spinrite Yarns’ Patons brand. After a bit of corporate expansion, the company decided to fold the blog. It was a lot of work to knit and document my progress, but it was a great learning experience.

You get the point: Each year I focus on a new niche and find a way to make it happen.

This year my professional goal is to ghostwrite more articles, columns, and blog posts for businesses.

If your business needs articles or columns to place in trade publications, I’m your writer.

If you need someone to write blog posts attributed to an executive, I’m your writer.

Why me?

I’ve written over 2,500 feature articles for trade magazines spanning many industries. Not only do I know what trade editors look for in a good article, I know what they don’t want.

Interviewing CEOs, C-suite executives, and entry-level employees has taught me to identify and emulate individual and corporate voices. My ability to match your desired voice—and use it to write clear, informative, and engaging columns and blogs posts—is another benefit you’ll receive when you hire me.

What are your professional goals for 2019?

  1. Paula, I have a couple of aiming points, not goals… get the forum relaunched, launch the book writing class, and figure out what sort of content democracycounts.org needs to pull in bushels of money.

    • Good luck on the forum relaunch, Anne! You know I love hanging out at the forum. And helping any group called democracy counts raise money can’t be bad!
